How We Build Globally

At Shelter Equity, we are committed to providing sustainable housing solutions for families in need, no matter where they live. Through our global partnerships, we work alongside local organizations and communities to build homes and improve living conditions for individuals and families facing poverty and hardship.

Our Global Partnerships

We are currently expanding our efforts to create lasting change by partnering with local organizations in Honduras, Thailand, Cambodia, and Kenya. By collaborating with trusted partners on the ground, we ensure that the homes we build are tailored to the needs of the communities and that the construction process aligns with local culture, practices, and resources.

Affordable and Sustainable Housing

The average cost of a home through our global initiatives is approximately $4,000. This includes the cost of the home itself, as well as program expenses, ensuring that every dollar invested has a direct impact on the lives of families. These homes are built with durable materials to withstand the challenges of local environments and are designed to provide safety, comfort, and security for families for years to come.

Local Partners and Screening Process

To ensure that our efforts are effective and sustainable, we work exclusively with carefully screened local partners. These organizations are vetted based on their ability to effectively manage housing projects, demonstrate financial responsibility, and have a deep understanding of the communities they serve. Our local partners are integral to the success of our projects, ensuring that every home is built in accordance with the needs and expectations of the families.

Supporting Local Economies

When we build homes, we are committed to supporting the local economy at every level. We purchase materials locally, which helps stimulate the economy by providing jobs and supporting local businesses. By sourcing materials within the community, we also reduce transportation costs and environmental impact, making the process more sustainable.

Additionally, we employ local labor to help build the homes. This approach not only creates jobs but also empowers local workers, providing them with valuable skills and experience. By hiring local labor, we ensure that the community benefits directly from the projects, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

A Collaborative Approach

At Shelter Equity, we believe that true change comes from working together. By partnering with local organizations, using local resources, and focusing on community-driven solutions, we create homes that not only shelter families but also strengthen communities. Our global initiatives are a testament to the power of collaboration and the difference we can make when we come together to build a better future.
